Frequently Asked Questions

What does an NDIS Support Coordinator actually do for me?

A Support Coordinator helps you understand your NDIS plan, connect with the right local supports, and build the skills to manage your supports with confidence.

At Prosper, we:

  • Explain your plan in plain English

  • Help you choose quality providers that suit your goals

  • Coordinate services so everything works together

  • Resolve issues with providers or funding

  • Prepare reports and evidence for plan reviews

Our focus is not just organising services — it’s helping you build independence, choice, and control over time.

How much Support Coordination funding can i use in my NDIS Plan

The amount of Support Coordination you can use depends on:

  • Your funded level (Support Connection, Support Coordination, or Specialist Support Coordination)

  • Your individual needs, goals, and complexity

There is no set weekly amount — funding is used flexibly based on what you need at different stages of your plan.

At Prosper, we:

  • Use funding responsibly

  • Adjust support as your needs change

  • Focus on long-term capacity building, not over-servicing

We are always transparent about how funding is used and will discuss this with you openly.

Can I Change my Support Coordinator if I’m unhappy with my current one?

Yes — you have the right to change Support Coordinators at any time.

If your current coordinator:

  • Is hard to contact

  • Doesn’t explain things clearly

  • Isn’t advocating for you

  • Doesn’t understand your goals

You can switch providers with minimal stress.

Prosper can help by:

  • Guiding you through the transition

  • Communicating professionally with your previous provider

  • Ensuring continuity of supports with minimal disruption

Your NDIS plan belongs to you, and you deserve a coordinator who works in your best interests.

Can you help me if my NDIS plan is NDIA-managed?

Prosper is currently not a registered NDIA provider, which means we are unable to deliver Support Coordination under an NDIA-managed plan.

However, if your plan is NDIA-managed, we can support you to transition to either a plan-managed or self-managed arrangement at no cost.

We will:

  • Explain your options in plain language

  • Assist with the required change request

  • Help you connect with a suitable Plan Manager (if needed)

  • Ensure there is no disruption to your supports

Once your plan is plan-managed or self-managed, we can commence Support Coordination and support you to use your funding effectively.

Our priority is ensuring you have choice, control, and access to the supports that best suit your needs.

What makes Prosper Central West different from other providers?

Prosper is a boutique Support Coordination service, meaning we intentionally support fewer participants so we can provide a more personalised and responsive service.

What sets us apart:

  • Strong local knowledge and relationships

  • Genuine advocacy — we work for you, not providers

  • Clear communication and honesty

  • Focus on building independence, not dependence

  • Respect, compassion, and integrity in everything we do

Many participants come to us after feeling unheard elsewhere. Our aim is to ensure you feel supported, understood, and empowered.
